People feel everywhere at home in Israel, including at the supermarket. They consume products and then bring the empty wrapping to the cashier to pay for it.
I stood in line when a man came to the cashier to pay. He had a box of candies half eaten. Of course, he began to chat with the cashier woman and also offered her a candy. She took one, ate it, and scanned the box for the code to pay. It's something so natural here that no one even noticed that something was unusual. Just an average shopping experience in Israel.
